The seeds for Foster Youth Insight were sown in 2002 when Terben’s founder got involved with foster care data management. What he saw was too much time and money spent on thinking instead of doing. Each locale was redundantly defining data systems to solve the same information problems, yet all projects seemed to hit budget and personnel walls before they ever got finished.
The opportunity to improve this situation was obvious. Capture the core purpose and objectives these projects identified, then build something that would be suitable to virtually every county, and make it a ready-to-use service.
Terben’s founders come from a long history of data project management, software development, and driving data-centric changes for productivity and efficiency. We’re excited to bring this experience to bare on the challenges facing foster care data.
